Raveena Tandon’s thriller ‘Maatr’ recently hit the theatres. Written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed, the film revolved around a mother who set out on a killing spree in an attempt to avenge her daughter’s rape and murder.

And now, a source close to Sridevi’s upcoming film ‘Mom’ has revealed that the film shares a plot which is quite similar to that of Raveena’s ‘Maatr’. “In the first-half of Mom, Sridevi’s daughter, played by Pakistani actress Sajal Ali, is victimised. In the second-half, her mother played by Sridevi does a vigilante act to get even with her daughter’s wrongdoers. This is exactly the format that we saw in ‘Maatr’ recently,” revealed the source.

However, the makers of ‘Mom’ are not worried about ‘Maatr’ stealing their thunder. “They are confident of Sridevi’s magic. She has not been seen on screen for a long time and her fans have been waiting patiently since ‘English Vinglish’,” said the source before signing off.
