SS Rajamouli answers ‘Why Kattapa Killed Baahubali?’

SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali: The Beginning' starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, and Anushka Shetty created quite a rage amongst the audience. The film turned out to be a visual treat for its viewers, and their many fans were left gaga over the movie. However, what one could wait for was an answer to 'Why Kattapa Killed Baahubali?'.
The first film ended on a cliffhanger and left the audience waiting for the second instalment in the series. However, filmmaker Rajamouli intended to leave an impact with this creative idea. The poster and the promotional activities of the 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' makes clear the essence of the idea.
Throwing light on the same, SS Rajamouli said, "Why Kattappa killed Baahubali? We thought of it as a theme for the part 2. We thought we will use that throughout in our promotions because that was the most asked question. We also have that scene in the film where we were shooting some stills and our designer Mr Jaggan, he suddenly sent me this image one day. It was not scheduled and we were not releasing anything on that day but I couldn't help but.. just released it and I came up with the line of having the line 'The boy he raised, the man he killed'."
