SS Rajamouli confirms meeting Aamir Khan for 'Mahabharat'

SS Rajamouli gets candid about his dream project, a movie on Mahabharat starring Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth and Mohanlal
Recently there were reports that 'Baahubali' director SS Rajamouli has plans to develop another mega-project, Mahabharat. While there was no confirmation from the director's end, reports suggested that Rajamouli plans to collaborate with Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Mohanlal and Rajinikanth for his magnum opus. The project was scheduled to go on floors in 2018 and was to be made on a budget of a whopping Rs 400 crore in three languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Talking about his dream project Rajamouli said, "I want to do Mahabharat and I have said that many times but definitely not immediately after Baahubali. Mahabharat is such an epic that I need to up my craftsmanship to handle such a subject."

When broached the topic of him meeting Aamir Khan, the director smiled and added, "Yeah I met Aamir ji once quite sometime back, We spoke about Mahabharat. I know that he’s very much interested in doing the film. But as I said, at present I am not thinking anything beyond Baahubali. Mahabharat is definitely not after this."

However, Rajamouli is not the only one to have expressed interest in making Mahabharat. In a recent interview Shah Rukh Khan to revealed that it was his dream to produce Mahabharat on a grand scale.
