Harvey Weinstein needs no introduction now. The world is well aware of the malpractices he carried out being the film mogul he was and it is safe to say that he is one of the most disliked men in the world at the moment. And today, we come bearing some surprising news. Just prior to the Annual Academy Awards, a statue has appeared of Weinstein sitting on his 'casting couch' near the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The statue is located at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue and features the disgraced producer clothed only in a bath-robe and slippers reclining on the couch with an Oscar statue in hand. Now that is some thinking, right? The installment, which appeared on Thursday, was created by street artists Plastic Jesus and Joshua “Ginger” Monroe and is intended as a reminder of the film fraternity's dark underbelly.

"For many years the exploitation of many hopefuls and established names in the industry was brushed under the carpet with their complaints of harassment and sexual abuse being ignored or worse," Plastic Jesus told a leading Hollywood entertainment portal. "Hopefully, now in the light of recent allegations against many leading figures in Hollywood the industry will clean up its act," he added.

Weinstein is facing a number of accusations from various women ranging from sexual assault to rape. He has denied allegations of non-consensual sexual contact and his fate is yet to be seen.
