'Sui Dhaaga - Made in India' pairs Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan for the first time ever as an on-screen couple and this alone has caused major hype around the film. Not just that, the film's initiative to promote India’s handicrafts via their slogan has caused major buzz too. Written and directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma, the film recently launched their trailer and we must say that the actors and the story perfectly live up to the hype surrounding this film.

The trailer follows the story of a small-town couple Mauji played by Varun and Mamta played by Anushka wherein Mauji works as a laborer in a tailor's shop but lives a life of indignity. Mamta then coaxes him to do something for himself, which leads to him getting kicked out of his job. He then realises that self-employment is the way to go. The rest of the trailer puts into perspective the trials and tribulations the couple faces on their journey forward.

The grounded characters portrayed by the superstars are note-worthy and trust us, this trailer will leave you wanting more. The film releases on the 28th of September. At the recently-concluded trailer launch, talking about the film, Anushka said, "'Sui Dhaaga' is a film which celebrates entrepreneurship." While Varun lightened the mood and said, "I took my niece's ashirvaad (blessing) before I came for the trailer launch." Well, looks like it worked, 'cause the trailer seems to have struck well with the audience already! Also, believe it or not, Anushka had refused the role of Mamta when it was offered to her. "I had said no to the film 'Sui Dhaaga' when it was offered to me as I didn’t think I could do this role," the actress admitted. The film had its fair share of downs it seems. Varun too had problems shooting for the film. "I had told Adi (Aditya Chopra) Sir and Maneesh (Sharma) that I don't have dates (for 'Sui Dhaaga') as I have to start shooting for 'Kalank'," said Varun. The film is all about promoting India and has been inspired by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s 'Make in India' campaign. Talking about patriotism, Varun said, "Patriotism has to be felt and not said."

Here are a few pictures from the trailer launch and the handicraft work we spotted will leave you stunned. Take a look...

Varun and Anushka are both highly fashionable stars. And they turned up at the trailer launch looking rather trendy too. Anushka was seen working a pair of blue and gold cropped silk trousers teamed with a textured navy top and black heels. Varun, on the other hand, was comparatively casually dressed in a pair of tracks teamed with a black T-shirt and a very cool printed bomber jacket. White kicks rounded his look off. Here's a look-see at their cool sartorial picks for the trailer launch...
