Teenage actress harassed in flight; alleged molester's wife claims it's a publicity stunt

A famous teenage Bollywood actress shocked everyone when she took to her Instagram account to put up a post where she claimed that her co-passenger on an Air Vistara flight was rubbing his foot against her back and neck while she was half asleep. A 39-year-old man was arrested in Mumbai on Sunday for allegedly molesting the 17-year-old actress. But now the alleged molester's wife has come out and claimed that the actress is doing this as a publicity stunt.

In an interview with a leading entertainment media portal, his wife claimed, “This girl has been influenced by fame and wrongly accused my husband." She further questioned the actress' late reaction. "Why did she not raise an alarm then and there? Why did she tweet 2 hours later? she had her mother for company. Despite that, the two ladies chose not to make any noise, why?" she asked.

She then tried to explain her husband's side of the story. She said, "My husband was coming home from Delhi. His mamaji had passed away and he was not in the right frame of mind. He was feeling very low and asked for a blanket. He wanted to sleep." She further added, "My husband is a family man. We have a 9-year-old child, he can never misbehave with any lady in any manner.”

She further said, "My father is an ex-Army officer and my father-in-law is an ex-Income Tax officer. We know how important it is to respect a lady, our family upholds very high values." The accused man had also told the police that his leg touched the star unintentionally and that he even apologised to her after she raised an alarm. Stay tuned for more updates.
