This is why the Kapoors will not allow a biopic to be made on Raj Kapoor

It is raining biopic in Bollywood, and the audience too seems to have taken a liking towards them. While biographies and biopics have become the new fad in Bollywood, apparently, the Kapoor khandaan is not too keen on the idea of Raj Kapoor's biopic to me made for the cine-goers. Rishi Kapoor recently launched his biography, 'Rishi Kapoor Uncensored: Khullam Khulla', and it is during the launch that he opened up about why there will be no biopic on Raj Kapoor.
When questioned by a journalist about the possibility of a biopic on Raj Kapoor, Rishi said, "We have been approached several times in the past. The elders in the family (including older brother Randhir Kapoor and elder sister Ritu Nanda) discussed it and decided to deny permission to everyone who wanted to make a biopic. Even though he was a great man who had an illustrious career and his life certainly warrants a biopic, all of us agreed that we wouldn’t let a film be made on his life, at least not in our mother’s (Krishna Raj Kapoor) lifetime."
Raj Kapoor is one of the most influential filmmakers and is responsible for changing Hindi cinema for the better. A biopic on the man himself will be an interesting watch, but with Rishi denying the news, it will be a wait to see if the Kapoors change their mind.
