Is Varun Dhawan the new replacement for Ranbir Kapoor?

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has already begun work on his much-awaited movie ‘October’ with Shoojit Sircar. However, not many people know that not Varun but Ranbir Kapoor was the first choice for the movie. The movie is based on football and Ranbir, who happens to be a big football fan, was the thought to be best suited for the role.

However, Ranbir turned it down due to reasons unknown and the next thing we know is Varun was on board. “He (Varun) has signed good films, where he fits to the tee. He’s a producer and a director-friendly actor, who doesn’t keep people waiting when being approached for projects. Unlike Ranbir, Varun isn’t much into football, but is in top shape for the role. The question here is only of the dates,” said a source close to the actor.

This isn’t the only project that has pedaled away from Ranbir to Varun. ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’, in which Varun will be seen opposite Anushka Sharma for the first time, was initially offered to the Kapoor scion. However, Ranbir couldn’t do the movie for reasons unknown and it landed in Varun’s kitty.

Varun has recently wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming movie ‘Judwaa 2’ alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. Helmed by David Dhawan, the movie will hit the theatres on 29th September.
