Vidya Balan to star opposite Rajinikanth in 'Kabali' spin-off?

While Vidya Balan recently walked out of her Malayalam debut, Kamala Das's biopic 'Aami', the actress is contemplating signing her next film down South. If reports are to be believed Vidya is currently in talks with the southern superstar, Dhanush to work opposite Rajinikanth in his next production.
According to a report by The Indian Express, son-in-law, Dhanush is plannng to make a spin-off of his father-in-law's hit film, 'Kabali'. While not many details about the project are out, the film will be a spin-off and not a sequel. Earlier there were reports by NDTV that it was Vidya Balan, and not Radhika Apte, who was being considered for 'Kabali'. While the actress could not be a part of the original, Dhanush is keen to sign the actress for the spin-off.
The shooting for the spin-off will start once Rajinikanth wraps the shooting for '2.0', and it will be directed by the '2.0' director, Ranjith. While Vidya has not signed the dotted line yet, the actress who is a self-admitted Rajini fan is trying to figure out the dates for the same.
