Vivek on his public spat with Salman: It was like a fatwa issued against me

While people usually remember the catfights of Bollywood, the industry's men too have had their share of tiffs. And not many would dispute the fact that one of the ugliest public spats among B-town actors was the one which happened between Vivek Oberoi and Salman Khan.
Things went downhill between the two after Vivek started allegedly dating Salman's ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The situation got so serious that in 2008 Vivek called a press conference and revealed that Salman had been repeatedly abusing and threatening him. Things went terribly downhill professionally for the actor post that. Recalling the phase, the actor recently said, “It was like a fatwa issued against me from the powers that be. Even if I gave a hit, work wouldn't follow. ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ became a huge hit but I sat at home for a year after that.”
He added, “’Hum Tum’ was offered to me on the exact same day that I was supposed to begin shooting for ‘Kisna’ which was delayed since I had an accident during ‘Yuva’. Some things were just not meant to be.”
