Ranveer Singh is on a roll. Last year the actor took the industry by storm with his films 'Padmaavat' and 'Simmba' which gained immense popularity. And now it looks like he's all set to make an energetic entry into 2019. His upcoming film 'Gully Boy' seems promising and will see the actor play the role of a rapper. And while we've seen Ranveer don multiple roles and portray them with much ease, the actor is now all set to play the role of cricketer Kapil Dev in ''83'.

Helmed by Kabir Khan, the film is said to revolve around the 1983 World Cup. And while apart from Ranveer, most of the cast remains undecided, a news portal reported that Ranveer's real-life wife Deepika Padukone is in talks with the makers to play the role of his reel-life wife in the film. "Her role requires just seven days of shooting. The filmmakers believe the part where Romi Bhatia left the stadium mid-way assuming that West Indies will win the 1983 World Cup final, and the difficulties she encountered in coming back into the stadium when India was on the verge of winning, can be well emoted by Deepika," a source stated.

Well, if that does happen, Deepveer's fans sure are in for a treat. The couple will then also star together in a film for the first time post their marriage. While no release date for the film has been finalised yet, it is said to hit the theatres in 2020. Stay tuned for more updates.
