Day 1 of Bangalore Times Fashion had a spectacular start

Bangalore may be the Silicone Valley of India, but that’s not its only claim to fame. The city remains a favourite among milleneals for its beautiful feather, amazing night life and now, an up and coming fashion scene. The city saw the fourth edition of Bangalore Times Fashion Week. The Bangalore Times Fashion Week is well known for being a platform for up and coming fashion designers and big stalwarts in the fashion industry. With the likes of Neeta Lulla, Samant Chauhan and Ritu Kumar displaying their collection with new designers like Kavita Agarwal, Paresh Lamba, the Bangalore Times Fashion Week was far more spectacular than it was touted to be.

The event started with the unveiling of Kavita Agarwal’s collection, Rangrez. With stunning colours, magnificent embellishments on beautiful fabrics of tapas and organza, the splendidly colourful collection was a tribute to the Indian finery. Popular actress in the south, Sanjjanaa Galrani also walked as the show stopper for the designer.





Label Ritu Kumar

Ritu Kumar’s eponymous high street brand’s latest offering, Native Spirit aimed to give contemporary wings to your innate gypsy princess. A peasant blouse, breezy dresses and feather accessories, the collection was found the sweet spot between functional and fashionable.





Shwetha Nandakumar


Shwetha Nandakumar’s bespoke theme based designs already have a fan club of their own. The designer avant-garde collection of glittering cocktail gowns and extravagant headgears reminded us of the Camp theme at the Met Gala!



Hopscotch

Next up, kids wear brand, showcased three collections. Over The Rainbows – a cute collection to brighten up a rainy day. Electric Days – all about glow in the dark tees, greys and silvers and Rainbow Brights – formal wear for the little ones. Bollywood actress, Tara Sharma Saluja also walked the ramp with her two children.




JD Institute of Fashion Technology

The talented bunch at the JD Institute Fashion Technology, showcased four distinct, but all amazing collections.






The House of Rare

The House of Rare was a celebration of classic cuts and minimal designs. The line showcased two dedicated collection for the men and women.






Samant Cahuhan

The day ended with the much anticipated finale by Samant Chauhan. Hic collection of hand-woven weaves, exquisite Indian embroidery over beautiful ball-gowns and dresses alike, had our jaws dropped.
