Deepika Padukone goes retro for Isha Ambani’s Sangeet Night

The Ambani-Piramal’s wedding festivities are going on in full swing and how! With the who’s who of Bollywood, (and a few International celebrities: Beyonce, Hilary Clinton) flying down to Udaipur, even the newly wedded Deepika Padukone couldn’t stay behind.

The actress’ stylist, Shaleena Nathani, took to Instagram to reveal Deepika’s look for the sangeet. The actress wore an oxblood textured saree, by Faabiiana for the star-studded evening soiree. The Jaipur-based fashion house is popular among many Bollywood stars for its elegant and unconventional ethnic wear.

Adding a dash of sexy, Deepika paired her saree with a halter-neck backless choli of a similar tone and contrasted it beautifully with a multi-layered gold choker and studded diamond ear-tops. Deepika’s chooda and sindoor blended flawlessly with the ensemble, showing off her marital bliss.

But credit must be given where it’s due, for it was the impeccably done work by makeup artist Priya Todarwal and hairstylist, Gabriel Georgiou that brought the whole look together. With a sharp winged eyeliner, nude lips and wavy hair tied into a beehive hairstyle, Deepika’s look heavily borrowed some of the coveted seventies glamour. We’re not surprised; the look gave us some major retro vibes.
