We know by now you might have tried to style your short but you didn’t get your preferred style the way you want. No matter how many times you do it though, a hair makeover can be a pretty stressful decision. But with summer making its presence known (with a pretty intense heat wave, may we add), it's time for the long hair to go. We know chopping off your hair or even going shorter than you're normally used to can be very challenging. So keep yourself cool this summer with new short hairstyles, and mix it up with these trendy hairstyling options.

Try the sleek, wet-haired look
This trend that looks killer if done well, slicked-back hair looks best on shorter hair. Whether you choose to use a texturising spray and blow dry it back into place or go for the whole gel-based wet hair look, this can definitely be your next party ‘do.

Embrace the curl
Girls with curly hair can also make the best of your new short hairdo. Enhance your gorgeous natural curls with some curl cream and serum for hold and shine. And if you don't have curly hair, there's no need to fret. Bring out your rollers and curling irons and curl away!

Do the twist
It all depends on how short your hair is, you can do one of these two twisty braided hairstyles. If your hair is in a short pixie cut that ends a little below your ears, do a really deep side part and twist some of your hair across your crown for a cute look. If your hair is slightly longer than that, you can do two twists from either side of your parting towards the back of your head and secure them with pins.

Wave it out
Curly and wavy hair are more popular now than ever. But if you don't want to go the fully spiral way, loose waves are just as pretty. So get out your curling wands and get your inner old heroine vibes.

Put it up
Once again, seeing as your hair might be too short to put into a topknot, you can always try a half updo for a cute, chic daily look. If you're feeling extra experimental, go the Miley Cyrus way and do two baby topknots on either side of your head!
