Model Mara Martin makes a bold statement as she takes to the ramp breastfeeding her 5-month-old daughter

Creating waves at Miami Swim Week, model, Mara Martin shattered all stereotypes as she hit the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swim Search runway show on Sunday night, all whilst breastfeeding her five-month-old daughter, Aria. Dressed in a one-shouldered shimmery dull-gold bikini, she strut down the runway with poise and confidence.
"I can't believe I am waking up to headlines with me and my daughter in them for doing something I do every day. It is truly so humbling and unreal to say the least. I'm so grateful to be able to share this message and hopefully normalize breastfeeding and also show others that women CAN DO IT ALL!” she wrote the next day after her picture on the runway broke the Internet. The magazine’s official Instagram page posted pictures from the event hosted at the West South Beach hotel which then went viral.
Praised across various portals, online and offline, Martin was greatly appreciated for promoting breastfeeding at work. Others also lauded her for body positivity. The mom and model thanked MJ Day, editor of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, and the magazine, writing, "THANK YOU for letting all 16 of us be our true selves, strong beautiful women!!! Because of you, my daughter is going to grow up in a better world, where she will always feel this way!!!!!!"
