Almost 20 years ago, Anita Dongre emerged in the Indian fashion scene to fill the gap in contemporary Indian wear and today she is running not just a brand or label but a veritable fashion empire. She has never let anything come in the middle of her pursuit which has been to constantly re-invent the fashion scene in the country. And while she is known for her bridal-wear, she also masters at creating the most surreal contemporary desi looks that can be sported at various occasions and events. And while her Bollywood list of clientele is a well-known one, did you also know that she caters to royalty too?

Well, she does and the list is long! From a list that includes the likes of Kate Middleton and several Indian royalties, it has now even expanded to the Queen of Belgium. The European royal makes for another ardent admirer of Anita's work and creations and was seen sporting a number from her 'Tree of Love collection' whilst attending to some philanthropic work in the country.

The printed dress inspired by the Bishnoi community’s spiritual reverence for trees was of a deep blue hue with all-over motif work, very typical of Anita's . The Queen looked dazzling in the ensemble and the motifs aptly lent those desi vibes to her overall look. When asked about what the designer thought of the Queen in her creation, she said, "Queen Mathilde wears the Tree of Love dress elegantly, as always. I look forward to meeting her over lunch this Friday and discuss common interest issues such as women’s empowerment and sustainability. I admire her philanthropic work immensely".
