Sonam Kapoor dresses as ‘Anarkali’ from ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ for Halloween

When it comes to anything related to fashion, we know Sonam Kapoor wouldn’t disappoint. Come festivals, Sonam’s sartorial senses go up a notch with the festive vibe. After wowing everyone with her impeccable ensembles during Diwali, Sonam surprised us all with her Halloween costume.
Primarily popular in the west, many people in our home country celebrates Halloween with their loved ones. You will often find people dressed up vampires, ghosts and witches, for the festival that celebrates the dead. But Sonam had a different take on it.
For the Halloween party hosted by Sonam’s husband’s Anand Ahuja ‘s fashion label, Sonam chose to dress us as ‘Anarkali’ from Bollywood’s classic, ‘Mughal-E-Azam’.
As Sonam always does, Sonam went all out to do justice to ‘Anarkalli’s character. Right from the choice of her ensemble, the jewellery, the hairdo and makeup, everything was right at par with Madhubala’s look as ‘Anarkali’ in ‘Mughal-E-Azam’. Sonam even added fake handcuffs and belly chains worn by prisoners to add more authenticity to the look. To seal the deal, Sonam managed to get her husband, Anand dressed as ‘Salim’ for the film.
Sonam shared both of their looks on her social media, with the distinct retro filter, along with the caption, ‘Pyaar kiya to darna kya... #BhaaneHalloween #bhaane #mughleazam #anarkali’
With their Bollywood inspired couple costume, Sonam and Anand looked like an embodiment of true love.
