Victoria's Secret cancels their annual fashion show. Find out why!

Lingerie brand Victoria's Secret’s annual fashion was probably more famous than the brand itself. The once-in-year phenomenon where Victoria's Secret ‘Angels’ walked down the ramp and pop stars singing their hit chart busters along, would pretty much set the tone for fashion and music that year. Unfortunately, the fashion spectacle is cancelled for this year.

While the first announcement about the cancellation came months ago from Australian model and Victoria’s Secret ‘Angel’ Shania Shaik, the official announcement came only recently from the parent company L Brands Inc.
The decision comes after years of declining viewership. The December 2018 show, aired on Walt Disney Co’s ABC network, was watched by 3.3 million Americans, compared with 12 million in 2001 when it was the first broadcast.
When asked if the fashion show would be held this holiday season, chief financial officer Stuart Burgdoerfer said: “No, we’ll be communicating to customers, but nothing that I would say is similar in magnitude to the fashion show.”
However, the cancellation of Victoria’s Secret’s runway show does not put an end to the blockbuster lingerie catwalk. At New York Fashion Week in September, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty show garnered great attention.
