It's no news that women shave their face. Although, the fact that the technique has been around for a longer time, there is still much confusion on how and why to shave.

Is shaving god for a woman's face?
- Well, there's no special need to shave your face as such, but you can absolutely do it. However, if you're looking for a deep exfoliation and smoother skin, you can visit a dermatologist for a treatment. If you want to remove coarse, full-grown hair from your face, you can try different facial hair removal options other than shaving.

How to properly shave your face?
- Some might believe in shaving dry and clean skin, dermatologists recommend using a shaving cream or a face wash on a rather damp skin which deflects friction and prevents irritation. Hence, you need to first wet your face to soften the hair follicles, apply a thin layer of cream or gel and then shave.

- You can then grab your facial razor and hold it at around 45 degree angle against your skin. You need to then use short and light strokes to shave your hair in the direction that it grows. You can also use your other hand to pull the skin taut if need be. Once you're done shaving, you need to rinse and moisturize your face well.

Does shaving your face make the hair grow back thicker?
- No, it doesn't. Dr. Schultz says, “That myth exists because people mistake the wispy feeling of their unshaven facial hair with the slightly blunt feeling of their clean-shaven facial hair as it starts to grow back. So it’s more about what you’re feeling and seeing versus what is actually going on.”
