The festival of dance, Navratri is here and while we all gear up for the adrenaline rush that garba and dandiya is going to give, we must also know that there are many who even fast during these nine days. This fasting can weaken your immune system and so it's important to maintain a healthy diet during these days.

Staying away from certain foods is surely difficult but it also makes us stay fit. Although, we're going to give you a list of foods that you can consume if you're also fasting these nine days of the festival.

Homemade juice: It's very important to keep yourself hydrated and juices are full of fibre and vitamins which are perfect for the kind of energy you'll need for dancing. You can also add some kiwi to these juices since they're high in antioxidants, vitamin C, fibre and polyphenol. Since you can easily make juices at home, you can be sure of them being preservative-free.

Chiwda: This one snack option comes handy and helps in preventing iron deficiency. It's quite light on stomach and can be eaten any time of the day. It can also be mixed with nuts to make it more nutritious. You can also include poha with chiwda as it consists of vitamins as well as minerals like folate and vitamin E.

Sabudana: This food item is commonly consumed during fasts majorly. Sabudana is very rich in protein and also quite important for building bones and muscles. It's a good option to keep you energetic through the day and can be consumed in the form of kheer, khichdi and tikki.

Dry fruits: Prunes, apricots, black currants, raisins, blueberries and dates are very essential during Navratri. These are the little munchies that helps in maintaining blood pressure levels and are also high in fibre and antioxidants which will keep you feeling full for longer duration.
