When it comes to skincare, people opt for one out of these three - topical treatments (creams and gels), oral treatment (tablets, capsules) and DIY remedies at home or treatments at a salon (face packs, facials, masks, scrubs etc). But what most people are still unaware of is that there's more you can opt for when it comes to skincare. We're talking about chemical peels. Don't let the term make you worry; as long as these are done properly by a professional, there's nothing to worry about and also remember that they're extremely safe.

What are chemical peels? In layman's terms, these peels are chemicals that are used by themselves or in combination with other chemicals and are then poured on the skin. The peels then help remove the outermost layer of your skin. This can help get rid of dirt, impurities, scars, blemishes and whatnot.

Some conditions that can be treated using chemical peels are uneven skin tone, sun-damaged skin, fine lines, acne, age spots and patches on the skin. Depending on the procedure your skin requires, the downtime required might be between one day to one week. The procedure itself hardly takes 5-10 minutes and is also easily tolerated. There is no pain so you won't even need anaesthesia. All you need to do is talk to your dermatologist and figure out which chemical peel will work best for you. Stay tuned for more updates.
