It's a given that dry fruits and nuts are extremely good for health. Now, a study has shown that eating almonds regularly can help lower the risk of developing heart rhythm irregularity and heart flutter. It may also lessen the risk of developing heart failure. Apart from this, almonds are also associated with maintaining sugar levels.

“Research shows that almonds, which are a source of protein and high in dietary fibre, can help in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, may improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes, and help lower the blood sugar impact of carbohydrate foods, which affects fasting insulin levels,” a lead nutritionist said.

“A handful of almonds are a source of 15 nutrients such as vitamin E, protein and dietary fibre. “They are a convenient snack which can be eaten anywhere, any time of the day and through the year. They go with just about any masala/spices. You can also pair them with fruits, or include them in other snacks, while giving them to your family,” the nutritionist added.

So, looks like it's time to add almonds to your diet. Stay tuned for more health-related updates.
