What if we told you that you could come to work four days a week but get paid for five? It sounds a little too good to be true right? But, this is the work schedule that most companies have now started to switch to. They've found that four working days a week can lead to higher productivity, more motivated staff and less burnout. “It is much healthier and we do a better job if we’re not working crazy hours,” said a company founder who introduced a four-day week to his company's work schedule.

Another insurance company in Germany also reported a fall in stress and an increase in staff engagement after it tested a 32-hour week schedule. An expert consultant also said that employees are now revolting against overwork especially in this age of digital technology where one is constantly connected to their work. “It would reduce the stress of juggling working and family life and could improve gender equality. Companies that have already tried it say it’s better for productivity and staff wellbeing,” said a lead executive at a firm.

Lots of countries including the United States, Britain and Germany are now trying to include a four day work week in their working schedules. Well, it seems like only time will tell what the future of our working weeks will look like. Stay tuned for more updates.
