Whoever said that women like to talk more than men do might actually just be correct. The Georgia State University conducted a study where they found that women happen to be a lot more satisfied with same-sex social interactions as compared to men. It was also found that women were more receptive to the rewarding actions of oxytocin.

Lead author of the study Dr. Elliott Albers, said, “Recognising gender differences in social reward processing is essential for understanding sex differences in the occurrence of many mental health diseases and the development of gender-specific treatments for psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, substance abuse and schizophrenia.”

Apart from this the researchers also found that in women, the rewards of social interaction keep increasing up to a point after which they reduce. They also found that social interaction can be so beneficial for women that it can reduce drug use, stress and can even help with certain mental disorders. However, the studies showed that Oxytocin receptors also played a major role in this. While the receptors got activated and induced the feeling of rewards for both males and females, it was higher in women than in men. Well, we suppose this is why women need all that girl time. Stay tuned for more updates.
