Summer means loads of fun, outing, maybe trips during the summer holiday and it doesn’t stop there. While every teenager awaits for the summer, not all realise the harmful effects of the sunny days. No, we are not only talking about the tan-lines. It is the humidity level of the area which tends to mess up with one’s skin. Specifically in teens, as their hormone levels fluctuate, which in beauty terms means skin troubles. In between attending lectures, boy-trouble, and curfews, who has the time to spare on skincare? The answer would be none. So, it is best to listen to your skin and get started with a simple skincare routine especially for the dreadful sunny day. Take some help from our ultimate summer skin routine. Down below steps are specifically curated for adolescents. Read on:

The first step to skincare should be cleansing and for teens, it is no different. Try to opt for a gel-based face wash if you are someone with oily to combination skin. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid to help you with teen acne.

On days when you plan to cake-up your face, don’t forget to double cleanse to get rid of every last bit of the dirt. Washing your face 2 to 3 times a day is fine. Don’t overwash your face just because it’s summer. This is illogical and harmful to the skin.

Make sure you use a toner post facewash. To combat with harsh sun rays, one may opt for some soothing face mists or toner to breathe back life to your skin. Aloe gel works great as well.

Do you know dehydrated skin during summer is more common in teens than adults? Seal the deal with a light moisturiser containing SPF. Teens with oily skin can also used gel-based creams for effective results.

Younger skin tends to get sunburns faster than adults, we recommend you to top up your skincare routine with a sunscreen. The higher the SPF, the better. Also, you make sure you apply it correctly for better results and re-apply when required.
