Banana bun: Everything that you need to know about the comeback of this hairstyle

From time to time, Instagram has given us several trends that were an absolute treat to follow. While some couldn’t live up to our expectations or were OTT for the real-life, here comes another one-a comeback of the banana bun. It is the hairstyle with a no-effort look. It is messy. It is dreamy. What not to like about them? What makes it more practice is its styling, you will only require a few minutes to create this hairstyle.

In simpler words, the banana bun is just a messier version of the humble French twist. Similar to the classic twist, it sits low on your neck but comes with lots of front and back locks that frame your face. The name given to this hybrid hair-do is still not clear. We are assuming it is named after the fruit, banana because of the shape of the bun, slightly resembling a banana-like fruit as it is longer than any other twists.

This ‘I just woke up like this’ hairstyle is fun, uber chic, and the opposite of 2013’s high maintenance hair buns. It doesn’t involve heat damage or too many styling products on your mane. In fact, it is a great hair-do that can be easily done on greasy hair as well.

You can play around with this easy hairstyle and add hair accessories to make it stand out or leave it plain for a minimal look. The best thing is, it will always be different every time you make this hybrid chignon hairstyle.
