Weight loss may be the end goal of many, but there are plenty of approaches in nutrition that can lead you to it. Of course, these nutritional approaches, diets mainly are famously known for cutting down important food groups. This may be great for weight loss, but overall health. Most of these diets can leave one feeling week, lethargic and malnourished if we’re being completely honest. That is where intermittent fasting wins our hearts. It doesn’t restrict the foods you eat – just the time frame.
But most people find fasting for 16 hours difficult and don’t even begin before knowing how big a challenge it may be. Apart from weight loss, intermittent fasting also changes the chemistry of our cells, provides clean energy, repairs body and gives you a better mental and physical outcome. Intermittent fasting gives you a good, healthy lifestyle, apart from its weight loss benefits. If you’re on the fence about doing the fast, ahead are some reasons we think might just push you to the other, better side.
You will have more energy
In order to make the most during workouts, our bodies need to have the cleanest sources of energy. Your body makes this energy more efficiently without glucose. To make this possible, our cells need a break from constant digestion and stress. Intermittent fasting allows that rest for the body. Fasting the body for 16 hours gives the cells a break and leaves you with more energy.
Faster recovery from workouts

Amongst the other unwanted by-products of exercise, inflammation is one of them. But a chronic form of inflammation can happen because of stress, sugar, and environmental toxins, inflammation can create issues. This can also have an impact on our workouts and hence results. Intermittent fasting will help in clearing waste and toxins from cells and allow for a dramatic reduction in inflammation. This means you’ll spend less time feeling sore and fatigued and more time feeling energized and ready for more.

It will enhance your physique
Intermittent fasting can speed up the process of weight loss by burning the body's stored fats for fuel, which is also how ketosis works. During the 16 hour window, the body uses glycogen in the liver, which also increases your metabolic rate. According to a study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, subjects who ate the same number of calories as they would in a normal day—but in a smaller window of time—had a “significant modification of body composition, including reductions in fat mass.” Pretty crazy, right?
