Best ways to avoid getting a tan

We've all finally begun to step out of our homes be it for work or basic necessities. And with that October heat going so strong, it's pretty easy to end up with a nasty tan. The worst thing about tans is that not only do they end up damaging your skin, they can also hurt and in worst-case scenarios, long exposure to the sun may even cause skin cancer.

That's why you need to be extra careful of protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays. So, if you're looking to ensure that you don't end up with a tan, here are some tips that might be of help. Take a look.

-Wear long-sleeved clothes. Although you may want to opt for something short to let your skin breathe, it's better to wear something that covers you up so that your skin stays protected. Opt for something loose and breezy if heat and humidity is a problem.

-Slather on some sunscreen. Make sure that you put on sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you step out of the house so that it has the appropriate amount of time to get absorbed by your skin and can help keep your skin safe. If possible, carry your sunscreen with you if you're going to be out for longer because you'll need to reapply it every 2-3 hours for best effect.

-Try not to step out in the afternoon sun. This is when the sun's rays are strongest and if you aren't careful you might just end up with a nasty tan. If you absolutely must step out then make sure that you're taking all the necessary precautions.
