De-stress with the help of this DIY lavender aromatherapy playdough

Stress impacts all of us in this hectic day and age. However, there are many ways to de-stress and get to a state of calm.

Reading a book, going for a walk, listening to music and a hot bath are some methods many people try to stay calm, especially after a stressful day. While those are all good strategies, have you ever tried aromatherapy playdough? It can be extremely soothing and you can take it with you to work, for those moments you need to relax.

What's even better is that you can make it yourself. All you need is a good essential oil and just a few more ingredients so you can get your dose of calm anytime, anywhere.

To make your DIY aromatherapy playdough, you will need one cup of all-purpose flour, half a cup of salt, two teaspoons of tartar, one tablespoon of olive oil, eight drops of lavender oil and a cup of water. You can also add food colouring. However, that is optional.

Here are the easy steps to making it:

1. Mix the dry and wet ingredients separately: The first thing you should do is consume the dry and wet ingredients separately before you combine them all together.

2. Heat the mixture for five minutes: Use a saucepan to heat the dry mixture and stir it consistently till it begins to form a ball. Once that's done remove it from the pan and let it cool on a sheet of parchment paper.

3. Add the wet ingredients: Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ones and put it back on to the stove and heat it up for another five minutes. Let it cool and shape it into a bowl.

All you have to do now is enjoy. This blend will last for a week, so make full use of it.
