Whenever we feel that our body is in need of energy we end up taking multivitamins. But a recent report has now suggested that taking multivitamins might not be as beneficial as you think. Researchers found that multivitamins do not prevent heart attacks, strokes or cardiovascular death. "They do not really reduce cardiovascular risk. We should be paying more attention to our diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables and low cholesterol diet is much more important than taking a multivitamin, specifically for cardiovascular risk reduction," said Dr. David Crowe, with Steward Medical Group.

"Multivitamins actually have their place. For those who have dietary deficiency, multivitamins can fill in those deficiency. Especially patients, those who had gastrointestinal surgery, they may have low absorption of vitamins. Vitamins can be a good replacement for those patients," Dr. Crowe said. He also added that it's really important to consult your doctor about which vitamins to take and which vitamins might actually help your body. Well, looks like you need more than vitamins to stay healthy. Stay tuned for more updates.
