Doctors finally agree that certain period cramps can be as painful as having a heart attack!

As women, we've got to get accustomed to being in severe pain at least once a month. And hiding period pain with fake smiles in the office sometimes isn't always an option! Sometimes, the pain is really bad and there is nothing we can do about it even. Also, there is a sort-of stigma surrounding menstruation and hence women cannot always openly talk about their pain either.

Recently, John Guillebaud, a professor of reproductive health at University College London told a leading news portal that patients who have experienced pain during their periods have described the 'cramps' as having a heart attack sometimes. Sounds crazy, right? Well, it isn't! There have been endless debates on menstrual leaves and while most people are divided on whether they should be granted or not, it's insensitive to say things like 'you're making too big a deal out of this' or 'you can take a pill, it will be fine' to a colleague (or any woman) who is menstruating.

This only tells us that talking about the pain and making conversation about menstruation needs to be made 'normal' so women can openly discuss how intense the pain that they are feeling actually is!
