All you chocolate lovers are in for a treat! A new study has suggested that eating up to three chocolate bars every month may help combat heart failure. However, if you indulge in such treats daily, it may increase the risk of heart failure by 17 percent, according to researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the US. So the key here is to eat in moderation. Five studies involving more than 575,000 individuals were considered for this research. The results proved that individuals who consumed chocolate bars had a 13 percent lower chance of heart failure a compared to those who ate none.

"I believe that chocolate is an important dietary source of flavonoids which are associated with reducing inflammation and increasing good cholesterol," said lead researcher Chayakrit Krittanawong, from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the US. "However, chocolate may have high levels of saturated fats. I would say moderate dark chocolate consumption is good for health," he said. Well, looks like you can eat chocolate without feeling guilty now. Stay tuned for more updates.
