If you think your eating speedily and multitasking at the same time are some skills to acknowledge, then you're wrong. It all only results in mindless eating. You should really care for the betterment of your body and get into mindful eating.

Mindful eating is when when you have all your focus and attention on the food that goes in your stomach. Says Mónica M. Alzate, PhD, assistant professor of family and community medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, tells Health, “Mindful eating helps us be aware of what we put in our mouths, realize the tastes that we probably have never noticed before, and realise when we are full or when we do not need to eat more.”

When you have all your attention into your food, you don't binge eat. And this way you aren't distracted while you eat and so you don't face uncomfortable emotions while you're at it. Hence, mindful eating helps in reducing both, binge eating and facing wrong emotions.

Although, it isn't a kind of diet tool that you'd want to try on to lose weight. When people come to Rossy's class looking for mindful eating lessons to reduce weight, she tells them, "Weight isn’t the issue. A number on the scale doesn’t define you or your health. This is about your well-being."

Hence, eat only when you're hungry, not because you're bored or have nothing to do or simply because you wish to munch on something. As you require taste and texture in your food, the food demands some attention too. Give it that, and it'll work its magic on your body. Chew your food correctly and take all your time to finish your meal.

These are simple tips that will lead you to mindful eating and help you stay healthy and also keep your mind away from unnecessary thoughts.
