Everything that you should know about the lipstick nails

Instagram has given us so many new trends. While we happily let some trends to fade away, few were totally worth a try. Another beauty trend has emerged and this time it's for the nails. Coined by Refinery28, it is a new nail shape, called ‘lipstick-shaped nail’.

This latest update of the nail is going to set a new landmark among other nail shapes. Perfect for someone tired of their regular almond, oval, square, coffin or stiletto shaped nails. This specific nail shape comes with a slightly pointed tip, resembling the shape of a bullet lipstick and hence the name. Think of it as a fusion of the square and stiletto-shaped nail. The cherry on top, this shape can ideally be done on both short and long nails.

Inspired by K-beauty, this nail shape is the brainchild of Park Eunkyung and her Instagram account @nail_unistella.

Park Eunkyung in a conversation with a popular platform revealed, “I’ve been keeping my nails short for a long time but recently I started loving longer nails. The reason why I couldn’t keep my nails long, even though I love the way it looks, was because they didn’t feel comfortable to me. As I was working at a photoshoot for cat eye-shaped sunglasses, I thought it would be interesting to shape my nails into that shape and gave it a try. It turned out like a lipstick shape, so I did it on my nails immediately. However, I haven’t done it to many people yet. I thought it was pretty and unique but still was a bit afraid to try it, too. I think people might feel the same way at first, but I’m sure they’ll realise how comfortable it is once they give it a try.”
