We're sure most of you are aware of the term 'Tennis Elbow'. It is often caused by the wear and tear of tendons in the hand by playing Tennis over a long period of time. However, have you heard of the term 'Selfie Wrist'? Yes, taking selfies has become so common these days that people are actually suffering from a medical condition that doctors have now termed as selfie wrist. Most people have now started complaining that they're getting a selfie wrist from using their phone's camera to take a photo of themselves.

Symptoms of a selfie wrist include feeling a tingling or sharp pain, which comes from flexing your wrist inward or from holding your phone in one position for far too long. Over recent years, doctors have diagnosed a lot of people with selfie wrists. The findings of this are even published in the Irish Medical Journal. Most of these incidents include instances like the person taking a selfie while jumping on a trampoline, walking on rocks or uneven surfaces and even just not paying attention where they're going and colliding with objects or falling down and breaking their wrists.

A study conducted in 2018 also found that between October 2011 and November 2017 there had been 259 deaths associated with taking a selfie. And most of these occured in the U.S., India, Russia and Pakistan. So, the next time you're taking a selfie, make sure you do so safely.
