Let's start off with why drinking three cups of coffee a day is actually good for you. A review of more than 200 studies found that people who drank three or four cups of coffee per day were 19 percent less likely to die from cardiovascular disease. Secondly, a study also found that every additional cup of coffee one drinks per day was correlated with a 7 percent reduced risk for developing Type 2 diabetes. Thirdly, and this is a big one, one review found that heavy coffee drinkers had an 18 percent reduced risk for cancer. Also, regular coffee drinkers were approximately 16 percent less likely to suffer from Alzheimer's, dementia, or cognitive decline. Lastly, a study on women proved that drinking at least one cup of coffee each week was associated with 15 percent reduced risk for depression, and drinking two to three cups per day was associated with 20 percent reduced risk of depression.
