If you're a coffee lover then boy do we have some good news for you! As per latest reports, it has been found that coffee can improve your fitness quotient and help you lose weight. A recent study found that drinking a cup of coffee before hitting the gym burned 15% more calories for three hours post-exercise.


“Caffeine triggers serotonin release which may help reduce appetite and delay hunger, which can lead to weight loss. Coffee also increases your energy production, and mental alertness which acts as a pre-workout booster. It also increases fat release which may boost performance and delay fatigue,” nutritionist Karishma Chawla explained.


“It affects the rate at which the body burns calories by increasing the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) in individuals. The rate of oxidation of fat in normal weight individuals is also greater,” explained nutritionist Hitha Bhankharia.


"The key is to be on a tailored nutritional plan and exercise regimen and then, consume caffeine in moderation. You should have a maximum of 2-3 cups a day,” Chawla continued. Well, now you know just how many benefits coffee has.
