While you may have heard of certain diets like the pegan diet, the vegan diet and the microbiome diet which have all been gaining popularity rapidly, a new diet has now entered the competition. This new diet is called the TLC diet which stands for Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes. This diet focuses mainly on helping people make better and healthier choices.

Dividing the rationing appropriately, this diet encourages people to get 50-60% of their daily calories from carbs, 24%-35% from fat, and 15% from protein. While the diet initially made an appearance in 2002 and was then updated in 2013, it has only now truly begun to gain popularity. Here's what you need to do to follow it properly.

To begin with, make sure that 50-60% of your daily intake of calories comes from carbohydrates, with 20–30 grams per day of dietary fiber. Then, add about 15% of protein to your diet. You are allowed to have up to 200 mg cholesterol every day. During this, you may also eat sweets and desserts as long as you consume them in moderation. Apart from this, the diet also encourages you to do about 30 minutes of moderately intensive physical activity like brisk walking or swimming on each day of the week.

While this diet usually works wonders for most people, it is important to remember that the percentage of calorie intake should vary from person to person. If you're someone who's looking to lose weight but is inactive, then you probably need to cap off your carbohydrate consumption at 40%. These tiny adjustments can go a long way in ensuring what foods you need to consume and in what quantity. Stay tuned for more updates.
