Common symptoms of diabetes include feeling thirsty more often, feeling the urge to pee very often as well as feeling more hungry, feeling tired and having blurred vision. While the condition can be managed through medication, there are also certain changes one can make in their diet to help ensure that their blood sugar levels are maintained. Certain types of foods and herbs can be consumed to keep diabetes under control and one such herb is the milk thistle.

The milk thistle is a plant that has distinctive purple coloured flowers with milk-white veins. The extract from this plant is known to provide a number of health benefits to people. A dry mixture known as Silymarin which is made from the compounds of milk thistle is known to have properties that can help lower blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity in patients that have type-2 diabetes. It can be consumed in the form of pills or packaged tea, however, one must consult a doctor before including it in their diet. Stay tuned for more updates.
