Here's how walking for just 22 minutes per day can improve your health

It's no secret that staying active is an important part of every person's life. It helps ward off many ailments like heart disease, stroke, diabetes and even certain cancers. Exercise can help you lose weight, gain muscle, help build bone mass, keep your joints strong and pretty much aid you in every physical aspect. Exercise also works wonders for your mental health. It can help you get out of depression and even lower the levels of anxiety a person feels.



A new study suggests that walking for just 22 minutes per day can significantly improve a person's health. The findings, published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine found that people who walked for at least 30 minutes per day were 20% less likely to die early as compared to inactive adults. The study was conducted over a 13-year long period. “Walking has been described as the 'perfect exercise' because it is a simple action that is free, convenient, does not require any special equipment or training, and can be done at any age,” the authors wrote in their conclusion.
