Holi might be known as the festival of colours but it most definitely is also the festival of joy. There's nothing else like running around and throwing colours at your friends, drinking chilled thandai and just having tons of fun. But while you should be enjoying your Holi what also happens is that you end up damaging your hair. This happens because we don't use the right organic colours. Ultimately, we end up with an irritated scalp and dry and dull hair.

Here's what you can do to avoid damaging your hair as you play Holi. Firstly, make sure that you apply as much oil as you can to your hair and scalp. Try and opt for nourishing oils like jojoba oil or almond oil. Once done, make sure to braid your hair. This way, the oil will create a barrier and will prevent colour from getting into your scalp. Moving on, as soon as you're done playing, get into the shower and shampoo your hair as thoroughly as possible. Also, apply some conditioner because your hair will need that hydration.

You could even opt for some leave-in conditioner once you step out of the shower. It'll help keep your tresses soft and in tip-top condition. And for those people who have coloured hair, it's just best that you avoid playing Holi as your hair colour can get spoilt. So, now that you know what you should do, follow these tips and go have a safe and fun Holi!
