Here's what could be causing acne on your forehead

We often think that once our teenage years are over, our skin will magically become clear and we'll finally be able to say goodbye to unwanted skin issues like acne and zits. But unfortunately, this is far from the truth. We can easily end up with adult acne and most of it occurs on your forehead. And if you don't treat it the right way, it could also lead to scars and spots. Here are a few things that could be causing all that acne on your forehead.

- Hormonal changes are often the most common reason why we end up with acne. These hormonal changes can cause a shift in oil production in the skin which could further lead to clogged pores and hence you end up with acne.

- Hair products could also lead to acne on your forehead. If you notice that the acne is mostly around your hairline then this is probably why you have acne on your forehead. Not washing your hair for long periods can also lead to breakouts.

- Clogged pores often occur due to excess oil production in the skin as well as lodging of dirt, impurities and pollution in the skin. Due to this, your skin is unable to breathe properly and this can lead to acne.

- Makeup can also lead to acne and breakouts since certain products might not suit your skin or you might be one of those people who don't take off their makeup properly. The residue can contaminate your skin and lead to breakouts.

A few ways in which you can keep forehead acne at bay: Deep cleanse your face regularly and make sure to also exfoliate your skin. Wash your hair at regular intervals. Clean your face properly whenever you need to take off your makeup or if you're sweating. Eat the right things, stay hydrated and make sure to get enough sleep.

While a lot of lotions and creams are available for topical treatment, if you have super sensitive skin it would be better to consult with a professional before you try anything on your own.
