We humans need antioxidants to protect our bodies from free radical damage and apricots are loaded with it. It is also high in beta carotene and vitamins A, C, and E. Apricots are also a rich source of antioxidants called flavonoids, which offers protection against deadly diseases like heart disease and diabetes. Chlorogenic acids, catechins, and quercetin are the primary flavonoids found in apricots. These compounds can help tackle free radicals that damage your cells and cause oxidative stress.
