Having pretty nails makes your hands look prettier but what lies beneath is what is more important. Having brittle nails that break quite often is a very inconvenient situation to deal with. And so, keeping them in shape and polished can also turn into a task. Hence, we have a few simple ways in which you can keep them well:

Clean nails: First things first, it is very important to keep healthy and clean nails. Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly and regularly to remove dirt, bacteria and grime. Make sure you also remove chipped nail enamel from your nails as this can also attract more dirt to your nails.

Scrub and buff: After you've cleaned your nails, you can scrub and buff them but make sure you don't use a sharp tool beneath your nails to clean them as digging below the nail plate can cause the skin to rupture which can lead to infections. Use a file buffer in order to file your nails and make sure they're nicely shaped.

Always use a base coat: If you wish to have a perfect manicure, make sure you apply a base coat first before you apply any sort of colour on it. This doesn't just prevent your nails from getting stained but also adds a protective later to your nails and retains the rich colour of your nail polish.

Avoid gel nails: Sure, they're pretty and convenient, but they can harm your nails and can also damage the skin below and around the nails. Use them rarely and only when you feel like you really need it that bad.

Trim your nails: Growing your nails for a nice manicure is alright, but always trim them regularly. The best time to do that is just after shower when they're stiff and easy to cut. Once you're done, you can disinfect your cutter with soap so it is clean for whoever uses it next.

Moisturize you nails: You always moisturize your skin, right? Similarly, do it for your nails too. Pamper your nails and moisturize them well regularly because your nails deserve some care too.
