If you've been trying these makeup hacks, you must stop

We've all had different kinds of skincare routines complimenting our skin type. There are many of us who rely on skincare videos to follow some makeup hacks while some try and test a few things to choose what works the best for us. Although, not everything on the Internet is for you to try your hands on. Not all of those makeup hacks are actually true and so you must not put your skin through all those trials because it might just work against it and damage yours skin even more.

This is why, we're here to give you a little information on makeup hacks that you shouldn't be trying:

- Blush your cheeks with beetroot: This hack sounds all natural and innocent but it actually works against your will to just blush them a tint of pink to your cheeks. Instead, rubbing beetroot halves on your cheeks will actually make them turn red and then you won't be able to get rid of beetroot stains for a long time.

- Whitening your nails with lemon: You must have noticed that putting too much nail-paint on your nails will turn your nails yellow and brittle. This hack requires you to whiten your nails by rubbing lemon juice on them with cotton pads and then wrap them up with a foil. Although, once you peel the foil off, you'll only get to know that there's absolutely no change in the colour of your nails at all.

- Concealing your dark circles with lipsticks: If you've watched a few makeup hack videos, they suggest you on using lipsticks to conceal your eyes. In reality, that will end up tinting your dark circles with red or pink colour which makes your dark circles look worse.

- Colour pencils as eyeliners: There are a few videos on the Internet which suggest using ordinary colour pencils on your eyes by dabbing them in hot water for some time. The tip of the colour pencil will soften for you to line them on your eyes. But the truth is that if you end up doing this, the colour will dry quickly on your eyes and fall off in patches.

- Using shot glass as a plumper for your lips: This one went viral on social media when it came out as a fresh hack. This is where you're required to use a shot glass on your lips, suck in the air and let the glass hold the pressure for a few seconds before you pull it off. It doesn't really work as it makes your lips appear swollen and red but you're really just risking your lips to bruises or cuts.
