Unless you live under a rock, we're sure that by now you might have at least heard of intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting requires a person to fast for a particular time period and eat only during the time that remains. It is one of the most popular diet techniques that people are trying out as of now. Fast results and the detox it provides your body with is just what has made the diet so popular.

Typically, the fasting phase in an intermittent diet can last anywhere between 10-18 hours. If you're someone who's new to this, we suggest you start by fasting for 10 hours and then increase the duration by one hour every week or so. Ensure that you don't force yourself to fast for longer than your body can withstand. Since you'll be fasting for long durations, it is extremely important that you consume the right foods when you break your fast. These foods should be rich in nutrients and vitamins that can help keep your body healthy. Here are some foods you should consider:

- Watermelon: Watermelons are more water than they are fruit. Low in calories and packed with Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin C, this fruit will ensure that you don't get dehydrated from your fast. What's more, this fruit also happens to be rich in lycopene and amino acids which not only increase immunity but can also give you healthy skin.

- Walnuts: Rightfully touted as the king of all nuts, walnuts are rich in omega-3 and make for the best snack option. Not only are they great for anyone who wants to lose weight but they also work rather well for your brain. Try to consume a few during breakfast or include them in your diet.

- Papaya: This delicious fruit contains a digestive enzyme known as papain which can come to your aid for a plethora of issues. It improves digestion, heals wounds, eases a sore throat and can even reduce muscle soreness. Plus, it works wonders for weight loss.

- Pineapple: Loaded with Vitamin C, manganese, Vitamin B6, fibre, iron, riboflavin, folate, thiamine, potassium, magnesium and pantothenic acid, pineapples work wonders to reduce inflammation, improve digestion and can even reduce symptoms of arthritis.

- Almonds: Rich in protein, fat, Vitamin E, manganese and magnesium, almonds work really well for your brain, eyes and skin. They also happen to be really good for weight-loss so try to include a handful in your diet every day.

Now, that you know which foods will work best for you during your intermittent fast, we suggest you start incorporating them into your diet ASAP. Stay tuned for more healthy updates.
