Apple cider vinegar is not only known for its distinctly sour taste, but also for its countless health benefits. A quick search on the internet and you would find multiple articles and YouTube videos claiming its health benefits. You’ll often find it an essential ingredient for many beauty DIYs as well. Adding a feather to its already colourful hat, a recent study says that apple cider vinegar may help type 2 diabetes patients with maintaining their weight.

So, if you’re looking for a remedy that’s natural and effective to slim down your tummy and maintain your blood sugar, apple cider vinegar could be the elixir of good health you may be looking for.

According to researchers, consuming a small amount of apple cider vinegar significantly reduced blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes patients, after a spike following a meal high in carbohydrates, compared with the consumption of a placebo drink.

A different study published in the Journal of Functional Foods also suggested consuming apple cider vinegar two times a day to balance the blood sugar levels.

However, the claim does require more extensive research as the evidence behind this claim is limited. For consumption, people consuming it should have diluted in water. It may also be noted, despite its alleged benefits, it should not be considered a quick fix for diabetes or a substitute for regular medication.

What do we learn from this? There is no substitute for a balanced diet and being physically active!
