There is a general trend among people to not consume food right after they exercise, especially if they exercise in the night. The reason behind this myth is the weight loss that is recorded right after a strenuous workout. However sports nutritionist Emilia Elfiranti Achmadi recently debunked this myth in an interview recently.

Achmadi, who also handled athletes during Asian Games was quoted saying, "Most people's way of thinking is: I exercise to burn calories, etc. Even though you may detect weight loss after exercising, it's actually not because fat is reduced, rather, it's because we are dehydrated,"

She continued to prove her point that there is no relation whatsoever between weight loss and not eating or eating after exercise, as long as one took care of the food they ate and the portion size. It is recommended to exercise at least once every two days or three times a week

She also recommends eating a diet that is rich in carbohydrates and proteins within 45 minutes of the workout, as the body absorbs the food faster during this period. She also recommends consuming anti-inflammatory food after the workout.

However she warns that this isn’t one’s ticket to consume junk food right after one has finished exercising.
