Lemon water is generally way too hyped up for staying fit and curing some or the other health issues too. This citrus drink is usually paired with far-reaching promises and health gurus who claim it can literally do anything from slowing down the ageing process to aid weight loss efforts.

There are surely some health benefits that lemon water has. It is the antioxidants that lemon juice contains. It is also rich in vitamin C which boosts you immune system and helps in reducing the risk of certain cancers as well.

However, do you think sipping on lemon water really help you shed those kilos or fire up your metabolism?
Studies suggest that the compounds in lemon can help in losing weight but the research is still too weak to know as to how lemon water can affect the human and their weight.

Lemon contains pectic which is the same satiating fibre that is found in apples and some people even claim the juice to keep you feeling full for long hours which can help in shedding that weight. Although, there is only a trace amount of this fibre present in the juice by the time you actually squeeze it in your water.

This is why, the best way to add lemon water into your weight loss plan is by including high fibre foods like beans, oats, legumes, etc. in your diet. The lemon juice can serve best as a replacement tool for losing weight as compared to other sodas and sugary drinks, rather than a magical drink.
