But ladies, despite your love for lipsticks, there might be some basic mistakes you're making that could affect your look and might even ruin it. So, if you want to make sure that your pout looks fabulous all time, every time, here are some lipstick rules you must absolutely abide by.

-Always opt for a lip liner. It can help avoid bleeding and staining on your skin and teeth. If you're new to liners you can simply opt for a nude one under all your lipstick shades until you know what liner to buy for which lipstick shade.

-Wear the right shade of lipstick at the right time. During morning hours you should opt for warmer colours and pick pinks over reds. At night, however, you can rock that fuchsia and red tones like a total boss.

-Choose the right shade of lipstick for your skin tone. Just because you love plum tones doesn't mean the deepest hue might work for you. There are always multiple shades available of the same colour so make sure to choose a shade that works well with your skin tone.

-Prep your lips before applying lipstick. Make sure you exfoliate and moisturise your lips as this will help give your pout that flawless look and will also make your lipstick last longer.
